Are you looking for an internship position? Whether you are interested in museum collections, public relations, or education, the Virginia Museum of History & Culture is a great place to learn about the different skills necessary to work in a museum. All interns must be at least eighteen years old. Internship applications require a cover letter and resume. In order to qualify for a PAID internship, you must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate school.

Our volunteers have the opportunity to gain exposure in the workings of a museum and contribute valuable visitor services to our guests. Qualified volunteers should possess a flexible attitude for dealing effectively with the public, proficiency with computers, and an understanding that reliability is critical.

Volunteer positions are open to all individuals who meet the qualifications outlined below, without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, or disability. The Virginia Museum of History & Culture does not accept court-mandated volunteers.
