Richmond, VA – Looking to add some excitement to a spring break staycation? The Virginia Museum of History & Culture is thrilled to offer families an opportunity to experience its latest exhibition, Julia Child: A Recipe for Life, during a fun week of family-friendly activities.

From April 1-5, families are invited to join VMHC Education for a range of activities, including food- themed crafts, story times, and special highlight tours of the exhibition. All offerings are walk-up and included with daily admission.

Julia Child: A Recipe for Life, on display now through September 2, tells the dynamic story of beloved American TV Icon Julia Child. Child is renowned for bringing the flavors of French cuisine to the United States, and visitors can witness her legacy through a series of interactive storytelling spaces from pivotal moments in her life. Visitors can star in their own culinary show through a recreation of Child’s The French Chef television set, be transported to where Julia experienced her first French Meal in a restaurant immersive experience, write “Dear Julia” letters on a vintage typewriter, and more. Special displays throughout the exhibition will also highlight Virginia’s distinctive culinary history and the diverse elements and people who have helped shape it.
