Please note, as we open with COVID-19 and construction guidelines, groups of 10 or more will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our Manager of Museum Programs for more information.
We strive to connect visitors with our remarkable collection of artifacts, manuscripts, and artwork. Visiting groups are encouraged to call ahead to arrange for a guided tour with a museum educator or choose a self-guided tour and view the museum at their own pace.
Your time at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture can be enhanced by booking a guided tour, whether you’re in town for a family reunion, looking for an activity for your church group, or interested in a corporate outing for your employees.
We require a minimum of ten people for a guided tour. Reservations for a guided tour must be booked at least three weeks in advance. Your group can choose to explore one of our temporary exhibits or one of our permanent, award winning exhibits. Guided adult tours price at $8/person during construction. We do not offer guided tours without reservation. Please note your tour is not confirmed until you hear from the Manager of Museum Programs. Fill out the group reservation form or contact Maggie Creech, Manager of Museum Programs, at [email protected] or 804.342.9652. Email is preferred.
We request that groups of ten or more inform us of their plans to self-guide through the museum in order to be eligible for the group discount rate of $5/person during our period of construction. Groups of fewer than ten people do not need to make a reservation to view the galleries on their own. To book a self-guided tour for your group, please contact Maggie Creech, Manager of Museum Programs, at [email protected] or 804.342.9652. Email is preferred.
