We strive to connect visitors with our remarkable collection of artifacts, manuscripts, and artwork. Visiting groups are encouraged to call ahead to arrange for a guided tour with a museum educator or choose a self-guided tour and view the museum at their own pace. Contact Maggie Creech, Manager of Museum Programs, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 804.342.9652 for more information.
Your time at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture can be enhanced by booking a guided tour, whether you’re in town for a family reunion, looking for an activity for your church group, or interested in a corporate outing for your employees.
We require a minimum of ten people for a guided tour. Reservations for a guided tour must be booked at least three weeks in advance. Your group can choose to explore one of our temporary exhibits or one of our award winning permanent exhibits. We do not offer guided tours without reservation. Please note your tour is not confirmed until you hear from the Manager of Museum Programs.
Tours price at $12/person for up to a one hour tour. Tours price at $15/person for up to a two hour tour. Your tour ticket does include the price of general admission, so you are welcome to stay and explore on your own after the guided tour is over.
We request that groups of ten or more inform us of their plans to self-guide through the museum in order to be eligible for the group discount rate of $8/person. Groups of fewer than ten people do not need to make a reservation to view the galleries on their own.
