Holiday & Traditions
The holidays we celebrate and the traditions we pass from one generation to the next evolve over time and say much about individual beliefs and the values of people and their communities. As they arrive, new Virginians bring their traditions with them and help develop new ones. Today, more than half of the people living in the Commonwealth were born outside Virginia. Learning and understanding the diverse cultural traditions of our neighbors helps build stronger communities.
