About the Exhibition: History is often told by adults! These adults were not always the mature people you learn about in school—they were kids once, too. And, people of any age can make history. Commonwealth Kids looks at how children throughout Virginia’s history have experienced childhood based on their individual circumstances and the place and time in which they lived. The exhibition is divided into five sections – play, labor, education, activism, and self expression – and includes items created by kids past and present.
